If you ask anyone how to sell or buy anything, then the answer you receive is through online classified sites. Yes it’s true, selling and buying is done successful through online and it’s the easiest way. That’s the great thing about dealing through online, you get to communicate directly with the person buying or selling.

There are many sites (Example: AdsGlobe.com) on the Internet which allows free classified ads. It is as simple as going to a site and placing an ad for anything for free. This creates a very unsafe environment for the public; ads can be placed without any back round check or screening. But selling or buying stuff online always involves some level of risk. Today so many are affected with frauds.

Here are 10 common methods and warning signs of online fraud:

PayPal Fraud:

Most of the classified sites are doing transactions through PayPal. With the rapid growth in the number of PayPal users, frauds on PayPal accounts have become more frequent and severe.

To access a PayPal account you need to have the username and password of the account. The username of a PayPal account is the main email address (primary email address) used to register the account. The security system is quite secure as long as the username and password of the PayPal account are known only to the actual owner of the account. If these details are available to anyone else it would mean that the security of that PayPal account has been compromised.

Automotive Fraud:

A fraudster posts a vehicle for sale on an online classified site, generally for luxury or sports cars advertised for thousands less than market value. The details of the vehicle, including photos and description, are typically lifted from other sites and re-posted elsewhere. An interested buyer, hopeful for a bargain, emails the seller, who responds saying the car is still available but is located overseas. He then instructs the buyer to send a deposit amount to initiate the “shipping” process. The innocent buyer gives the funds, and does not discover until days or weeks later that they were scammed.

Travel Fraud:

Some Travel agencies tries to fraud by posting fake ad posting in the classified sites asking to buy cheap Travel packages and tries to impress on the offers they are providing.

Once the traveller has paid the processing fee, the travel agent will come up with additional charges or in extreme cases even disappear.

Dating Fraud:

The classified sites are providing a category for Dating. And some sites are providing only Dating ads. Online dating scams and fraud are almost as old as Internet dating itself. The person who frauds often tries to develop a relationship, and eventually convinces the victim to send money. The scammer often meets the victim in chat rooms or via online dating classified sites. Their object is not to get into their hearts, but to get into their wallets. They will try to earn someone’s affections and trust so that they can persuade him/her to send money. The requests for money can either be a one time event or repeated over an extended period of time. After spending time communicating and building a relationship with the victim, the scammer will ask for help in the form of money.

Rental Fraud:

Fraudsters operating are trying to confuse those who are seeking on rent. The scammers posts an ad in the classified site that property is for rent and pretends to be the owners of a property and when the customer responds to the ad, fraudsters ask to make a deposit and for some personal information to be sent via email. Keys to the home, they promise that they would be sent as soon as possible.

Car Dealer Fraud:

Most auto classifieds online give a price, which you can work with, but a regular trick, which is frustrating and time consuming for customers is this.

When the dealer wants to get rid of the old car quickly, the dealer will run a large advertising in classified sites, with the price ridiculously below cost. When the advertisement runs, the dealer waits for customers to flood through the doors. The customer will be buying that old car thinking to be new car and deposits the amount to the dealer assuming that he is buying a car at very low cost. He does not know about the fraud until he receives the car or he may not even receive the car.

Work-at-Home Scams:

Work at home job offers are more in classified sites. The job offer section is almost filled with work from home, online data entry, Earn Money Typing at Home, Real jobs with Real companies and so on.

Why are so many people interested in these types of jobs?

The answer is so many people are interested in work from home jobs so that they get to work from home, spend more time with their family, don’t have to worry about leaving house and getting stuck in that traffic.

So some companies are taking advantage of this fact and post ads in jobs category since the latest trend in searching job is through online classified sites. Companies say that they guarantee that you will get a job. The only you have to do is to have a one-time, lifetime enrollment fee and that enrollment fee is backed with a 90-day money back guarantee. All we ask is that you participate in the program for 60 days and once they receive payment they will not respond back.

Pet Classified Scams:

In recent years, online Pet Classifieds scams have increased and have affected many people.

Online classifieds scams pose threats to both sellers and buyers.

Posing As a Seller: A Person can post an ad for a puppy that only exists in the item description. Actually, seller doesn’t have the puppy that he/she is trying sell or give away. Seller will then ask for money and refer them to the shipping company who is supposed to send the puppy to the buyer. Buyer waits for few days and contacts the seller, but no answer. Tries again for couple of more days, no answer. Finally buyer decides to call the shipping company with the reference number for the puppy. Shipping company replies that they don’t have anything related to this reference number or it is not for your puppy. Buyer loses money.

Posing As a Buyer: A scammer can pose as a buyer of a puppy and contacts the seller. Buyer is desperate to buy and accepts your listed price and suggests that his/her agent will pick up the puppy with a check that is more than the asking price. In return, they ask buyer to deduct amount for the item, get remaining amount and give a fake cashier’s check. Seller will lose the puppy and the money.

Home Improvement and Home Repair Fraud:

Each homeowner wants their home to be as comfortable as possible. Home improvement or home repair can be a major expense and every homeowner looks out for the best deal that is available in the market. These large sums of money attract fraudsters to the home repair industry looking for ways to scam your money, while offering you fraudulently services.

Scammers post that they are offering to do expensive fixes for a fairly low price. This is just one technique dishonest home repair firms use to hook customers. Once you sign the contract and pay in advance, they don’t show up to complete the job and leave you with phony contact information.

Today it is regularly more thorny than free to the regional calm to buy or plug a pony, in some gear it is even tiring to find a string in the region. There is another way to buy or trade a mare nowadays and that is on the Internet, there are descent websites where advertisements can be sited to promote a pony and this is also a good place to begin looking for a pony to buy.

Horses, unlike most other equipment bought and sold, have a wellbeing account, a temperament and certain breeds are doomed for certain tasks in life. The landlord who is promotion a steed has certain clothes that they can do to guarantee the stallion is sold in a reasonable total of time and that it is sold to the mark new possessor.

Selling A Horse It is important to attain the mare with the best probable holder for several reasons, the first of course is that is it a flat retailing and the trice debate is to guarantee the charger will have a good eminence life and be treated correctly.

Some behavior to guarantee this is to register the mount at a sound website where it will draw quality buyers. Then the advertisement should also be right printed with a popular name to fascinate viewing. Photographs should also be a part of this advertisement, an advertisement with accurate and empty photographs will have a, much better comeback.

It should compose the sex of the mare, the age along with the height and burden. In this advertisement it should also tell about the breed of the pony counting any annoyed breeding.

The advertisement should also have information about the mount that might not be seen from photographs, gear that only a landlord can know, including the pigs\’ temperament. The advertisement should also be filled with any other important or interesting information about the charger and its background and his appearance.

This advertisement should also include accurate call information so the interested buyers will be able to make link and any hurl or telephone messages should be answered promptly.

One thing that should forever be done is to make a resolve on the variety of payment and attach with that, there are scams when promotion anything and to escape this a latent buyer should be anxiety out previous to accepting an inhibit with their pitch to guarantee they are a portion of that reservoir. There are also other ways of charming payment such as the cashiers restraint; this is a quantity of money that has already been rewarded to the horde to draw this confirm. If selling the stallion to a potential buyer that requests to propel a check and have you send them the rest back, disregard this buy as a fraud. This is an Internet sting that has loss many unknowing and innocent people money because these checks are not good and the guise is in a country that will not prosecute them.

The ultimate action in most gear is done is to draw up a schedule of auction that also includes buy back rights. In the occasion the buyer at anytime decides to wholesale the mare the initial possessor will have the selection to buy the mount back. The buyer and the merchant each entertain a photocopy of the selling promise.

Buying A Horse When selling a pony there is as much information that requests to be researched as, when selling a pony. One of the first things that needs to be sure is how experienced is the role who is looking for the charger and what they graph to use the steed for, such as riding, viewing or racing. This could clarify what nature of charger to look for when rendition the advertisements for pigs for deal. Depending on experience and what class of pony the buyer is looking for they also might want to read the listings of pigs for retailing to preclude the untutored steed. The inexpert pony takes an experienced self and they can take months to sequence making this an untrained game for the new provision and even the intermediate proviso.

The age of the pony is also an issue, the new proviso in most luggage are not apposite well with the juvenile stallion, because this steed is not as well affected or calm as an older mare would be with the new rider.

If the buyer is going to look for a mount in the Internet they want to make certain that they are probing for the right mare on an honest website. Each advertisement should be read over carefully, there are important details that want to be known before purchasing a mare. The strength minutes of the pony are as important as how careful looking the charger is, an unhealthy steed can be a great outflow and have a tragic ending.

The breed of the mount in some luggage can also be a factor depending on what the mare is being bought for, as well as its age. This also applies to the buyer who requests to breed the pony.

Frequently when a horse is for deal the buyer can dispose a trial interlude with the existing possessor to try the horse out in their surroundings to ensure that it is the modest horse to leverage.

When purchasing a horse from a website on the Internet it is important to have gain concise emails and then receiver conversations with the exhibit owner pending the time a reunion is given.

If this is the fitting horse and the firmness to grip it is decided then a proposal of sale should be tired up that will guard the buyer in the instance that the organize owner has withdrawn any information about the horse that would have blocked the sale.

Above all when buying or selling a horse on the Internet it is important to ensure the place that is worn is an honest one and that they supervise their website to keep it sound for buyers and sellers.

Have you recently purchased an aquarium? If so, have you purchased any supplies for it yet? If not, you may want to think about doing so. Aquarium supplies not only include aquarium décor, but they also include important pieces of equipment; equipment that may have a direct impact on the survival of your new fish. That is why it is important that you thoroughly examine your fish tank, the fish that you have or will have inside of it, as well as the supplies that you may need.

Once you have determined exactly what aquarium supplies you will need to purchase, like an aquarium chiller, a filtration system, or a protein skimmer, you will need to start shopping. Unfortunately, this is where many first-time fish owners make a mistake. Many automatically head to their local pet supply store or fish tank supply store. While you may be able to purchase aquarium supplies from these establishments, did you know that you have a number of other options? These options involve the internet.

When it comes to shopping online, there are many individuals who automatically think of online auction websites. It seems as if online auction websites have skyrocketed in popularity over the past few years. In fact, when shopping online, many shoppers check out a number of well-known online auction websites before they even examine any other websites. Of course, you can buy your aquarium supplies from an online auction website if you want to, but you need to be cautious when doing so. Unfortunately, in today’s society you need to be on the lookout for online auction website scams. In addition to paying for an item that you may never receive, there are no guarantees. That is why, if at all possible, you may want to explore your other options.

One of your other options, when shopping for aquarium supplies online is to do business with a well-known and reliable fish tank supply store, which is also often referred to as an aquarium supply store. These are actually online retail stores, which have their own online addresses; they are completely different than online auction websites. In fact, buying your aquarium supplies from an online fish tank supply store is considered the most recommended way to go about buying your aquarium supplies. This is because, as you will soon learn, there are a number of benefits to doing so.

Just one of the many benefits to buying your aquarium supplies from a well-known fish tank supply store is service. When you are buying something from an online auction website, you are working with a seller, whose real name you probably will never even know. This is not how an online fish tank supplier works. Not only will you have access to an actual store name, but you may also be able to find the name of the business owner, with little or no research. For many consumers, this creates a level of comfort, which in turn makes online shopping a feasible option. It is also important to note that most online fish tank supply stores have a trained and experienced staff. This means that if you need help choosing a particular product or if you would like product review information, you should be able to get it, often immediately!

Another reason why you should think about buying your aquarium supplies online from an online fish tank supply store is because of quality. Many fish tank suppliers fully stand behind their products. In fact, that is why many offer warranties on their aquarium supply products. These same warranties can often be found in your local fish tank supply stores, but they are rarely found on online auction websites. If this is your first-time purchasing aquarium supplies, a warranty may give you a little bit more confidence when making your purchase.

As you can see, there are a number of benefits to purchasing your aquarium supplies online and from an online fish tank supply store. In fact, the above mentioned benefits are just a few of the many that exist, most of which give you a feeling of safety and security when making your purchases. Although there are a number of different locations where you can purchase your aquarium supplies from, you are urged to examine FishTanksDirect.com. With a trained and experienced staff and a large selection of aquarium supplies, you are sure to find exactly what you need, as well as exactly what you want.

My cat Spike was previously owned, but in good condition. He wasn’t shaking or throwing up on the floor or having some kind of a fit. For a cat in an animal shelter he seemed to be in pretty good shape! The animal services people said that he was available for adoption which made me wonder if the other animals in the cages were doomed already.

Adoption is just another word for a cat sale! They didn’t want us to think this was a business arrangement, so they dulled the verbiage by telling us we were giving him a new home and a future; even hinting that if we didn’t take him, he would be meeting the grim reaper the next day.

First Tip: Know what you’re going to be spending and decide if the kitten is worth the money, as well as the cat hair on your new sofa when you get home.

The cat cost me almost $100 before I could even get him into the car, which to my way of thinking, I had just bought a cat. Adoption fees, city license fees and county license fees, worming and a few other medical necessities amounted to $115.00. The coupon they gave me to have him neutered would save me $20.00, but would still cost $30.00.

Any way I looked at this arrangement, we were talking about big money and I hadn’t even bought any kitty litter or cat food! I was beginning to wonder if I had been scammed. This kitten certainly didn’t look like he was worth a hundred dollars. Also someone obviously of limited intelligence had named this kitten Donnie! I immediately changed his name to Spike, which he seemed to appreciate.

Second Tip: Make sure the cat of your choice is in good mental health. That’s right, I said mental health. According to animal experts, cats can stress out and go bonkers just like us humans. I wasn’t aware of such a thing when I picked Spike out of the line-up at the shelter, but it could explain why sometimes when he’s sleeping he will suddenly sit up and then bolt from his bed like its on fire!

Cat anxiety is evidently a fairly common malady for felines. Spike rarely appears anxious unless one of the raccoons that have invaded the woods in our back yard snarls at him over a bit of his cat food. He almost lost a leg to one of these food bandits a couple of years ago and since then he stays out of their way when they visit his garage at night. Othewise he seems pretty laid back.

Occasionally he’ll scratch the side of our antique couch when we least expect it. I think he’s just trying to get attention from us, which he does when my wife grabs the broom and swats him out the door.

I asked a veterinarian about this behavior and he said that Spike was probably suffering some kind of emotional stress. He wrote me a prescription for valium. He said if he showed any other emotional distress he would increase the dosage. That’s all I need; a stoned cat!

Tip Three: Physical Health: Although it’s impossible to tell just how healthy the cat you’re interested in buying is, you have to hope that it’s good enough to qualify him for health insurance. Spike appeared to be healthy when I bought him so I thought I wouldn’t have to spend much money on his up-keep.

Then the raccoons and monstrous veterinarian bills arrived. After one of them chewed on his leg in a dispute over Meow Mix, I discovered that having a little insurance was probably a good thing. I also discovered that pet insurance is a lot like human health insurance in that there is a pre-existing clause. Even though Spike had never had an injury to his leg, the insurance company refused to pay for the medical attention he received, using the old “pre-existing” excuse!

Whether you buy your cat at a pet store or an animal shelter, it’s going to cost you money, worry and time. Sometimes I think raising a kid is cheaper and they won’t leave hair on your couch!

I was on Craigslist looking for a siberian husky and i came across an ad that was in my same county (Los Angeles County) so i decided to E-mail the “owner” and he said he’s really in Texas and he’d give me the puppy for free but i would have to pay for the shipping which was 250$

yeah well talk about too good to be true
the guy said he’d send his dog to the carrier service and i should receive it within 24 hours and the carrier service will contact me about method of payment.
well i got really suspicious but the guy was giving me his big sob story about how he has to find the puppies homes asap because he’s moving or whatever. so he asked me for information.
he asked for my full name, address, city, zip code and state.
I gave him the info and he said the carrier service will contact me soon.

well i got a E-mail from the so called carrier service (found it in my spam folder) that’s when i new this is a fraud. well i kind of had a gut feeling the whole time.
and some guy from “CAMEROON” called with an african accent
and asked about the service or whatever and i told him i’d get back to him. meanwhile i researched online and found the very same stories from others on blogs coming from “carrier services in Cameroon”

here’s the link check it out so you can understand my story a bit more

http://helpmerick.com/fun_with_cameroon_pet_scams.htm

well i blocked the E-mails from the so-called owner and the fake Company called and i picked up the phone (oh yeah, they have my number too. what a freakin fool i am right?) well i said “yeah I’m sorry i will not be going through with this whole thing, i don’t have any money and i can’t do this, send the “dog” back to his “owner” ”

and he said “You contact owner!!!!!!!!!!!!” and he hung up on me
lol
yeah so i’m not gonna contact these people ever again

nor will i buy pets online! i’m gonna settle for a shelter puppy, they are cute and need my help, too bad i really wanted a husky, but it’s okay.

Now my question is:

Should i still be worried??
I don’t plan on picking up any more of these calls from the fake company but they have my name, address, city, zip code, state, and home and cell number

the phone doesn’t bother me because i just plan to ignore any calls coming from this place

but can they do anything with my address and name? like any identity-theft or anything?? please let me know, i am worried.

ahh and please don’t tell me i was stupid for falling for this, at least i didn’t pay anything right??? most of the people on the forum about the scam already paid and lost money. it’s already bad as it is that i fell for it, i feel soo sooo stupid.
FYI :

I don’t have anything in my name right now
no bank account
no credit cards
nothing

I’m 18, just graduated from high school.
so i don’t really have an identity to really steal since i don’t have anything but my Social security number, but i know they can use my SSN to get a credit card and stuff. but since i don’t have anything does it lower my risk of having my identity stolen???

Certainly when it comes to buying pets online there are certain things that you can do which will ensure that the animal is fit and healthy. In this article we offer some tips that could prove extremely useful when buying & selling pets online.

So what should you do when you are thinking of buying a new pet online? Below we offer some tips that may prove very useful.

Tip 1 – When it comes to buying a pet online you should question everything that has been written with regards to the animal you are considering. Although you may feel that this being a little extreme it will help to ensure that you don’t end up losing out because you have been scammed by someone. If you find that the seller is unwilling to offer answers to the questions you are raising or make claims that seem too good to be true then you should take your business elsewhere.

Tip 2 – Before you even think about handing over any money then make sure that you get everything put down in writing. You can either ask them to provide a handwritten note which they can fax or email. But whatever method you use this will provide you with an avenue to contact the seller again should any problems arise.

Tip 3 – As with buying anything online you need to know exactly what costs are going to be involved. Along with the cost of the animal, you need to factor in the cost of transportation. So ask how much they charge for the container, also any additional fees they charge if you need them to keep the pet for you for an extra few days until you can collect it. This way you won’t then be hit with any extra fees that could result in you having to spend far more than you hoped for.

Above we have looked at some of the things to take into consideration when buying pets online. Now what should you do when it comes to selling pets online? Below we offer some tips that you may find helpful.

Tip 1 – When advertising a pet for sale, make sure that you include as many pictures as possible within the advert. This is a sure way of getting a potential buyer to fall in love with the animal. Also these pictures can help a buyer to quickly determine whether the animal you have for sale is what they really want.

Tip 2 – It is vital that within the description part of your advert you include as much information as you can about the pet as possible. Don’t just tell them what breed the animal is and whether it’s male or female but also provide some information regarding their parents. Also don’t forget to mention what sort of temperament your pet has. Of course another thing you must include within the description is the animal’s age and what medical treatment it has undergone and if it has had all the necessary inoculations that it needs.

Tip 3 – It is important that you try to keep your emotions out of any potential deals. Yes you should be screening those who are considering purchasing your pet, however don’t expect to find the perfect one. What you should be looking for a new person to own your pet that will provide it with a good home and will care for it in the same way that you have. If you are at all concerned ask for some more personal information including whether they have owned the pet you have previously.

Finally when it comes to buying & selling pets online you need to choose the best place to advertise them. There are now several websites that are specifically dedicated to help people buy and sell pets. In some cases these sites are dedicated to certain pets. Therefore the chances of you finding someone who knows about the pet you have and how to care for it is greatly increased.  However, these sites that offer pets for sale are just as useful for those looking to buy one. With these types of sites you have more chance of finding a reputable seller rather than someone who is trying to take you for what they can.
