So we thought we’d play with them a little. Now we have them believing we are someone they have contacted with a missing dog called Spot, which was lost in the Timmy Mallett Memorial Gardens in Cambridge (only Brits will get that…).

So they want money transferred by Western Union. They are just giving a name and a Nigerian state. Can you transfer money that way (not that we are going to). We want to either get some details on them to send to the police, or that we can use to teach them a lesson.

We are stringing them along saying we have the money, how do we send it.

Any advice on how we proceed? We want to annoy them as much as possible, and possibly get them arrested – although I know it’s hard. Please – how do we mess them up good and proper!

(I know there are loads more but lets just annoy one..)

And attached was a picture of what LOOKS like a purebred english bulldog to me. I find that too good to be true. Plus she never mentions the BREED of the dog. My husband’s been wanting a bulldog, and I’d take it in a heartbeat if this was in fact not a scam. Someone please reassure me this is a scammer? And where can I report it??? Does this go on often on Craigslist?

Ok, thanks everyone. That’s what I was afraid of. I know the ‘going price’ for those puppies, so it kind of sent up a red flag when I opened the photo and saw that gorgeous pup staring back at me!
Thanks for the suggestions – I am going to send a response right now asking to come pick the dog up in person. Will let you know how that goes, but I doubt I will get a response back since this goes on all the time. Pretty sad!

I gather already that I need to take business courses, secure a loan, hire people and what have you.

I’m not looking at making millions a year. I just want to live comfortably and do what I enjoy doing so much and that is working with animals.

Before you tell me how horrible pet stores are and all that, please read what I have to write.

I am in the business to make a profit. That being written, I will have to import many of my animals in the beginning.

My fish may be wild caught, shipped from all over the world and my rodents will be the unwanted accidental offspring of people in town.

But I grew up with a love for animals and with knowledge; I am not a Pet smart employee who doesn’t know anything about anything.

My fish would not go home with someone the same day they buy their tanks, I would not ever sell sick animals or try to scam people out of their money.

I won’t sell puppies or kittens, there wouldn’t be any snakes or turtles (they get so large).

In the future I would even buy from local breeders.

Oh and my betta wouldn’t be in flipping cups. =/

So give me advice. Would I have a chance against Petsmart and Petco and all those other branches?

Would people come to small pet stores rather than chain ones?

To be truthful, I think my store would focus on fish (all sorts) more than anything.
